Meeting was called to order by President Joe at 12:15pm. And Fr. Don again led us in song. Battle Hymn of the Republic this week. Do you think maybe we can get out those song books again? They have all the words to these songs.....that no one knows all the words to!
Good job Margaret. Margaret is our Asst. Sgt. at Arms. And it was duly noted by a few members that our Sgt. at Arms was in Martha's Vineyard. But no one was believing it was for business. Monkey business maybe????? And what's this with our President talking about our more improved Sgt. at Arms? I take offense to that. My Sgt. at Arms, John Vassallo, did a GREAT job....... So there! (How's that John? Feel better?)
We had quite a crowd in Rocco's today. 27 attended. I think there was one empty chair in the room. Not a normal summer crowd. But everyone seems to be fine in these cramped quarters. And I'm hearing that the choices on the menu are great!
President Joe asked that those attending the joint meeting on July 30th to please see him to sign up.
And Spinners tickets money is due now. Please turn your checks into Donna.
Jim Ficcociello was our finemaster with Peter DeGennaro as his assistant. I think Peter was trying to sneak out the door when Jim grabbed him. So much for leaving early Peter. Doc was fined for tripping up the stairs coming in. He said he was hurrying because he was walking in with Jim Fic so he knew he was late. And mostly everyone was fined today.
And what is this with the barbecue sauce? Last week Angela won it and then I saw it today come out of the kitchen with Chuck. Apparently, it was left last week. Chuck even brought out string so Jim Fic wouldn't forget it again. But how did Jim Fic end up with it???? I think that's for another day.
And we ended the meeting with Jim Fic winning the 50/50 raffle. We'll have to watch next week and see if being finemaster has something to do with winning the raffle. Maybe I'll have to volunteer.
See you next week!
