Wilmington Rotary - Newsletter- The Keyway - The Keyway Archive (Sep 3, 2003)

President Joe called the meeting to order at 12:15 pm. Father Don led us in song. Our Sgt. At Arms, John zzzzzz Garrett was missing, but our Asst. Sgt. At Arms Margaret Fulginiti was there doing a wonderful job!

Ruth Kennedy was noticed at the head table this week. Now to get things straight - it was Ruth that asked Donna last week if she was supposed to be sitting up there. I said "Yes".... So don't think I spend my luncheons looking around to see what I can fine the head table for......It was brought to our tables attention and it was decided that I would fine the head table......I think everyone else was protecting their dollars!

Captain Carl Melander was visiting today and brought Bill Crawford from his club with him. Jim Gillis resurfaced and brought Ed Harrison with him. I take it that maybe his replacement will also be joining our club???? And Mary Whitney had her grandson, Jake, with her.

Jim Gillis did an excellent job as fine master until one table got him so frazzled he just stopped.

President Joe said that Dan Wandell is looking for assistance in planning speaker programs for this year. Please see President Joe or Dan if you have some ideas and want to assist Dan. I think a few of us should support Dan since I believe this was thrown at him. What happened to the days when it was the Vice President and President Elects job to set up the speaker programs????? I know last year it was the President......So come on everyone - the meetings will only be as interesting as we make them.

The Dog Races are set for Friday, September 12th. Please see either President Joe or Angela Keane if you want to attend. $18.95 per person and doors open at 6:15pm and first race is at 7:00pm. Angela has 20 people signed up so far........

Also the District Conference is coming up and a group of Wilmington Rotarians are planning on attending or at least in the talking about it stage. John Doherty, Donna Wayman and Mary Whitney are attending. And maybe Angela Keane and Barbara Hoefelich. So why don't you think about joining us for Halloween weekend in Montreal.........

Herb Peterson won the raffle but didn't pull the winning card. Sorry Herb!
