Weekly Meeting, September 10, 2003

Today was quite a humorous meeting.  It seemed like the one-liners were flying.  We had David Fionda from the Burlington club visiting.  Dave will be the District Governor in 2005-2006 and stopped by to say "hi".  Dave also said that he was the tallest one at our meeting.  Jim Ficociello was a little taken back by that one.  So we checked.  And the line of the day was made by John Vassallo:  "Jim, how does it feel to be short?"  Right on John!

Today we gave out our perfect attendance awards and several of perfect attendance recipients were missing.  Something wrong with this picture????  Hopefully, they are making up elsewhere.

And the awards went to Roger Lessard (1), Christopher Neville (1), Mary Whitney (1), Joseph Bilicki (2), Suzanne Cushing (4), Rev. Donald Abbott (5), James Peterson (5), John Vassallo (9), Stephen Peterson (10), Angela Keane (11), Joyce Brisbois (12), Donna Wayman (14), John Doherty (15), Bernard Wagstaff (27), Corydon Coombs (37), Fred Cain (49) and Ray Fitch tops us all with 50 years!!!  Congratulations on all your hard work in obtaining these awards!!!!

Race night is this Friday night.  There are still tickets available - see Joe Bilicki or Angela Keane if you are interested.

Auction meeting next Tuesday, September 16th @ 6:00pm at John Doherty's office.

Anyone interested in Montreal?  We have a group of members going to the District Conference this year from October 30th through November 2nd.  For more information - see Donna Wayman.

Fred Cain has agreed to be our Hospitality Person.  Fred will be responsible for sending cards, flowers or whatever is needed for sickness, births, deaths, etc.  So if you know of anything that is happening - see Fred to notify him.

Doc Marshall is coming home from rehab tomorrow.  Or so Peter DeGennaro was heard telling some members today that he spoke with Doc's wife and that was the great news.....

Dan Wandell was overheard talking about some of the upcoming speakers programs he has already set up.  Sounds like a great job is being done by Dan.  Anyone interested in helping Dan organize our programs/speakers - See Dan.

Jim Buck won todays raffle but didn't draw the right card.  Oh well - better luck next time.

See you next week!
