Wilmington Rotary - Newsletter- The Keyway - The Keyway Archive (Sep 17, 2003)

President Joe called the meeting to order with a small crowd. But after the bell rang - we had about six or so more members race in the door. Roger Hayden was at the meeting, but no one could seem to find a piano. (But don't worry - I am hearing that there is a meeting of the Board for the Masonic Hall this evening and they will be discussing the return of our piano - so keep your fingers and toes crossed). Father Don said grace and thanked God for making sure the hurricane missed us.

After lunch our Sgt. at Arms, John Garrett, had Bernie introduce the visiting Rotarian - none other than our Leo McVicker. Leo brought back memories by telling on of his jokes.

President Joe made a few announcements. The next Auction meeting is cheduled for Thursday, October 2nd at 5:15pm. Please note the new time!! There will be a speaker program next week.

Pres. Elect Jim Ficociello was the fine master. Jim fined Fr. Don by saying, "Father, there are no religious people in the Carolina's and Virginia? I am sure they aren't happy that the hurricane will be hitting them." And Father Don's reponse was "I don't work for them".... Fined! Ruth Kennedy got fined for not sitting at the head table. She was overheard telling Donna that she didn't want to sit there. So Donna paid Ruth's fine! Actually we were all glad Ruth didn't sit at the head table since we all found out about Tibo. And if you don't know what it is - you'll have to make sure Ruth sits at your table one of these days.

John Garrett won the raffle but didn't find the ten of diamonds so the pot will grow from it's $92.00 of this week. Better luck next time John!
