Weekly Meeting, October 15, 2003

Well, I am back.  I apologize for no newsletter the past few weeks.  As most of you know I have been home sick with pneumonia.  Not a fun past few weeks.

Again, thank you for the beautiful flower arrangement and card from the membership on October 1st meeting.  It is an honor to have been nominated as District Governor 2006-2007 and we will wait to see how the challenge plays out.

This week we had a guest speaker - our own Past Member Ralph Flodin.  Ralph came to speak about his current profession.  Ralph runs the Prison Ministry at Concord State Prison in Concord, NH.  He was telling about how this came about and how it has changed his life and made him learn more things about himself and his fellow man.

He also explained how he runs an anger management program at the prison and how this compares to other state sanctioned programs.  It was an interesting topic and we wish Ralph the best in this endeavor.

So what's going on with the membership?  The meetings are looking a little scarce lately.  I hope everyone is just extra busy - but are remembering their make ups - and not sick!

Auction meetings are up and running again.  Meeting this Thursday, Oct. 16th at 5:15pm at John Doherty's office.  I know we all know what we need to do - since we have been doing it for so many years - but the time has come to step up to the plate.  We need those donations - we need those ads for the supplement and we need to sell those $100 raffle tickets.  Time is a ticking!!!!  We are 5 weeks way from those big days - Nov. 20th and 21st!!!!!!

Also, President Joe announced that the next District "VIP" evening will be on November 11th.  He also said that our club Holiday Social will be December 11th at the Cafe Escadrille.  More info coming soon!

President Joe had the winning ticket but he didn't pull the winning card.

See next week!
