Wilmington Rotary - Newsletter- The Keyway - The Keyway Archive (Nov 12, 2003)

You missed an excellent meeting if you missed today's meeting! Congratulations to Fred Cain for a job well done! Today was the day that we honored 12 serviceman from Wilmington that are or have been stationed in the Hot Spots of Iraq and Afghanistan. One of the gentleman was with us that just recently returned from Iraq. And then relatives of the other serviceman attended to receive two $50.00 American Express checks (one from our club and one from Fred F. Cain, Inc.). They also received a letter from our President and a Certificate of Appreciation from the Club.

It was an enjoyable meeting.

Reminder: Auction meeting tomorrow night (Thursday, 11/3) at 5:15pm at Wilmington Insurance. We need MANY more items for the auction next week. 131 items were listed in the Town Crier Supplement - but we need about 100 more items to equal last year. John Doherty announced that the Supplement is about 8 pages smaller than last year. So we really need to pick up speed and get working on the auction.........

Fireside Chat for three new potential members next Monday (11/17) at 6:00pm at Donna Wayman's house.

Roger was there to play the piano today - since the piano was delivered so we would have today. But it never got tuned and a lot of the keys were sticking. About 1/2 way through the Patriotic song - Roger gave up and just sang....Sorry Roger! You gave it a good try though!

Town Crier was present today - so I'm hearing that next week we will have something about today's luncheon in the paper. Thank you Ruth Kennedy who does such a wonderful job as our club's PR person.

Had a 50/50 raffle today since we had so many guests and visitors.
