Governor Deval Patrick
Governor Deval Patrick was our guest speaker today. Governor Patrick spoke on the inititives his administration has put forward and his commitment to expanding the business base within the Commonwealth. To that end, his announced grants under the Workforce Training Fund Program to companies doing business in Wilmington and surrounding communities. These grants help pay for the training of new and existing employees. Koch Membrane Inc, Protopac Engineering Co Inc., Quantum Leap Packaging, Inc. and United Tool and Die Co. Inc. were the recipients located in Wilmington.  Accompanying Govenor Patrick was State Senator Bruce Tarr, State Rep. James Miceli, Vincent Lopesof the Workforce Training Fund Program and may of the Governor's staff and Cabinet members. The Governor took questions and comments from the audience.
Rocco's had standing room only. Guests included Town Manager Michael Caira, Supt of Schools Joanne Bentom, Supt of Shawsheen Tech Charlie Lyons, Selectmen Lou Cimaglia and Charlie Fiore and the many representatives of the companies being awarded the grants.

Congratulations to Rocco's for handling the crowd and the food. Chuck was not aware that our Club would be hosting the Governor until a State Police security detail appeared to check out the restaurant in anticipation of the Governors visit.
Wilmington Rotary/Red Sox
Wilmington Rotary Annual Night at Fenway will be on May 21, 2008. Please contact Fred Cain for further info.
4th of July Dinner
4th of July Dinner on the Common will be July 1st. Our Club will kick off the 4th of July Celebrations with our annual dinner on the Common. The Club will keep the same menu, chicken, pork ribs, potato salad, corn on the cob, rolls w/butter, and lemonade. Tickets will be available at the 4th of July building on Middlesex Avenue.
